Prerequisites
- Certainly, before creating a part, it's a good practice to ensure that all the relevant details have been entered or updated. These details typically include information about the customer.
- By Updating these master screens before creating a part, you ensure that the creating part process is efficient, accurate, and free from errors.
Additional Info
- Customer Master:
- Keeping customer information current helps in selecting the right customer for the purchase order. This includes contact details, payment terms, and any other relevant information necessary for communication and coordination.
1.0 Part Search
Part Search - Key Points
- Open Design and Development > Masters > Part to reach the Part Search screen.
- Use the search filters to narrow the part list before opening, editing, or exporting part records.
- The Customer field in Part Search is a multi-select dropdown populated from the Customer Master.
- If no customer is selected, the search returns results based on the other entered filters.
- Enable Exact Match when the search should match the entered filter values exactly.
- Use Clear to reset the entered search criteria.
- Use Add Part to create a new part. This action is available only to users with part create permission.
- Use Add Standard to open the standard part entry flow.
- When search results are available, use the table-level Search field to filter within the displayed results.
- The green highlighted row indicates the current/latest revision.
- Use Export as Excel to export the filtered result set. The exported file includes the same fields displayed in the Part Master Details screen for the selected search results, along with custom fields where applicable.
- Use Export Hierarchy to download a full Bill-of-Material style report as Excel, covering all parts (not just the current search results). Each row shows a Top Part alongside a Parent Part and Child Part at a given Level of the hierarchy — with each part's Name, Part Number - Revision, and Internal Code — plus the Quantity of the child consumed per parent, so you can trace multi-level part structures outside the app.

List of Standards
- Below the form, the standards list shows Standard Number, Standard Specification Type, Standard Description, Revision Number, Status, and Standard Link (a clickable link to download the uploaded file for that revision).
